Helping Metoro Define Their ICP and Attract Early Users

Client Overview

Metoro is a YC-backed British startup offering AI-powered observability solutions for microservices running in Kubernetes. Leveraging cutting-edge eBPF technology, their platform collects telemetry data at the Linux kernel level, providing developers with real-time visibility into application performance, logs, traces, and metrics—all without requiring code changes. Metoro integrates seamlessly with existing observability stacks, helping developers streamline debugging and optimize system performance.

The Challenge

Metoro faced two critical challenges in its early stages: defining its Ideal Customer Profile (ICP) and attracting a strong base of early users. While the platform’s technology offered a powerful solution for debugging and observability, its team needed to refine their target audience and craft a strategy to break into the competitive developer and startup ecosystems.

The challenge wasn’t just about getting in front of the right people—it was about communicating Metoro’s value clearly and building trust within technical communities.

Our Approach

We began by defining Metoro’s Ideal Customer Profile (ICP) through in-depth research, identifying key personas such as DevOps teams, Site Reliability Engineers (SREs), and tech startups managing Kubernetes environments. This helped us narrow the focus to decision-makers who could benefit most from the platform.

With the ICP established, we launched targeted LinkedIn and email campaigns aimed at connecting with these decision-makers. These efforts, combined with Google Ads campaigns, drove high-intent traffic to Metoro’s website, contributing to a 378.5% increase in web traffic and attracting 12,000 active users during the collaboration period.

To build further visibility, we listed Metoro in over 15 startup directories, enhancing its presence within the tech and startup ecosystems. Educational content shared across platforms like LinkedIn and Twitter helped reinforce Metoro’s credibility, while discussions on Reddit, Hacker News, and IndieHackers provided valuable community feedback and deepened trust with developers.

We also conducted outreach to podcasters, securing guest appearances for Metoro’s founders. These podcasts helped position the brand as a thought leader in observability and expanded its reach to a broader audience.

Finally, a comprehensive website audit and feedback implementation ensured a polished, user-friendly experience, making it easier for new users to understand and adopt the platform.

Outcomes

During the collaboration period, our efforts delivered significant results:

  • Increased Website Traffic: The website attracted 12,000 active users, marking a 378.5% increase in traffic
  • User Acquisition: Through initial optimizations and new campaigns, we successfully onboarded over 200 users to the platform.
  • Enhanced Visibility: Metoro was listed in more than 15 startup directories, strengthening its presence within the tech and startup ecosystem.
  • Community Engagement: We actively participated in discussions on platforms such as Reddit, Hacker News, and IndieHackers, gathering valuable feedback from the community.

Outreach to Podcasters: Reached out to podcasters to secure opportunities for the founders to be featured as guests, expanding Metoro’s reach and credibility.
